Round 1 Silverstone International 5th and 6th April 2014
Charlie Ladell started the first round of the season at Silverstone on the International circuit taking place on the 5th and 6th of April.
Charlie turned up feeling happy with what we achieved during testing. Qualifying didn't go to plan - 'we headed out on old tyres to set a banker time before putting on new tyres. Unfortunately during our pit stop for new tyres it started raining, ruining our chances in the session. Luckily we still managed P9 for the first race and P8 for the second race.'
Race 1 - It was a wet race and Starting 9th it was going to be an interesting race. Going into the first corner Charlie held position until a nudge from behind put him down to 14th. It was a close race seeing everyone post similar fast lap times. However, Charlie did mansge to get himself back up to 9th, But because the red flag came out this meant dropping a place due to the rules. Finishing 10th.
Race 2 - This was a dry race, Starting P8. Charlie view on the race - 'we got a decent start get up to 7th. We was battling in a 6 car train where a wrong move would mean you would lose out. We was in 6/7th for most of the race until the last few laps where a tap from another car during an overtake dropped us to 10th. We held on to 10th for the rest of the race.' Charlie view from the weekend - 'Overall it was a slightly disappointing race weekend which could of been much better if it wasn't for needless contact from other cars. With only 2 week to Snetterton there isn't much time to get ready to go again.'
